Questions, answered
Does Duesday need an internet connection?
No, not for the everyday stuff. Adding items, browsing your timeline, search and reminders all work offline. You only need a connection for AI scans and for the ads on Plus.
What does the AI see when I scan something?
Only the one photo or screenshot you choose to scan. The first time, Duesday asks your permission and tells you where it goes. It's sent over HTTPS to our scanning service, which passes it to Anthropic, an AI company, to read the item and its dates. Duesday doesn't store it. Card and ID numbers in the results are masked, and you check every field before anything is saved. You can turn AI scanning off in Settings under Privacy.
How do reminders work offline?
When you save an item, Duesday schedules its reminders on your phone right away. Your phone delivers them on time, with no server and no signal needed. If you change a date, the reminders update with it.
Is it the same on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Same features and same plans. Duesday runs on iOS 16.4 or later and Android 8 or later (iPhone widgets need iOS 17).
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. If you scan with Plus, Duesday uses a random anonymous ID with no name or email, only to count your daily scan credits. Settings > Privacy > Delete all data erases it along with everything on your phone.
What if I have more than 10 items on Free?
Nothing disappears. Your items stay on your phone and keep reminding you. You just can't add new ones until you archive something or switch to Plus, which is also free.
Why would I choose Plus over Free?
Plus is still free. In exchange for a few ads, you get unlimited items, custom reminder timing, attachments, the medium widget and a short ad to unlock an AI scan when you want one. If you'd rather never see an ad, stay on Free.
